Current Hero's Wishes
I am writing in hopes of being able to take my family to Disney World. After a very hard year for myself, but also my wife who took on everything in life from raising our 4 daughters 6,7,8 & 15; to our home, all while worrying and visiting me as I was hospitalized several times over the months. My wish would be for the 6 of us to go stay at Disney World for 4 days and be able to visit all the parks. Thank you so much! - Brett

My name is Chief Petty Officer Seth Jones, and I have proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 17 years. Serving this country is not just my duty, it’s my passion. I have defended freedom, protected the front lines, led multiple units in unfamiliar territories, and stepped in wherever needed. But this calling has come at a hefty cost. I am blessed with a wonderful wife who has carried the weight of being both mom and dad during my nine deployments in serving the Red, White, and Blue. She has been the rock for our three daughters Mersadies (19), Neveah (15), and Violet (12). They left the comfort of family in Utah to hold down the fort in Southern California. None of us could have imagined just how many nights they would spend without me. It wasn’t only deployments when I missed days at home, I was often away on training, courses, or temporary assignments, leaving my chair empty at the table. Since enlisting, I have missed more moments than I can count, moments I once swore I would never let slip away. Birthdays, holidays, first days of school, last days of school, sporting events, family dinners where my seat sat empty night after night. I’ve missed blowing out candles, hearing about new adventures and fears, cheering from the sidelines, consoling scraped knees, and tucking my girls in at night. Many of those moments slipped by while I was across the world in another time zone, others while I was tied up with training or orders that shifted at the last second. Even when I tried to make it home for something special, duty always seemed to have other plans. In those early years, between 2008 and 2012, I experienced their birthdays, first days of school, and holidays only through photos and grainy video calls sometimes with lag, dropped connections, or just a blurry screen. As technology improved, I could finally see the events in real time, but it only reminded me more painfully of what I was missing. Over time, the missed school performances and sporting events chipped away at the closeness of our family. For the last four years, we’ve been searching for something to bring us back together to reignite the fire and rebuild the bond stretched thin by distance and time apart. A family trip to Disney World would mean the world to us. The ultimate dream come true would be the five of us, my wife and I and our three daughters experiencing that magic. It would be a chance to create a memory together that doesn’t need to be retold later. Thank you for considering my wish and giving me the chance to hope that, maybe this time, I won’t have to miss out. A dad who just wants to be “in the room where it happens” with his family.

Hello, we are the Powell Family. I am Daniel, an E-7 Chief Boatswain Mate in the United States Coast Guard, currently serving my second tour overseas in Bahrain as part of Patrol Forces Southwest Asia. I am married to my loving wife, Daisy, and blessed with two amazing children, Delano and Desmin, who are 9 and 11 years old. While my work is challenging and rewarding, I believe my family shoulders the greatest burden: my children being without their father for a total of two and a half years during my deployments, and most importantly, my wife, who is currently in remission from lymphoma. Her courage, resilience, and strength in managing our household during my absence inspire me every day. Our wish is to create lasting family memories by visiting Disney World upon my return from deployment. We are respectfully requesting assistance in obtaining multi day park hopper plus tickets for my family. This experience would not only be a dream come true for our children but also serve as a much-needed morale boost for my wife and our entire family after these challenging few years.

My family and I would love to go to Disney World. We have never attended the theme park and had always been a wish of ours. I recently just got back from the Middle East and would love to take my family on a vacation here. During these times I cannot afford to take my family to buy tickets, hotels, food, and transportation. If I can get any help I would greatly appreciate it to take my family before I PCS from Fort Hood.

Saying “Thank You” doesn’t quite cover it. Words just aren’t enough to express the profound gratitude that my family has for you making this an amazing trip to celebrate our family being back together again. Thank you all for the birthday comments and posts today! On our first day of the trip, after our travel, my daughter and I both celebrated our birthday at Magic Kingdom and it was amazing. Sharing a birthday with my daughter will always be better than any celebration I could ask for. Last year the Army had me away and it was the first time since she was born that we were apart on this day. This year we made up for it. I can honestly say that I had a brief moment of emotion as I stood there with her on my shoulders watching the fireworks around the castle on our actual birthday, appreciating that we were back together for our day. THANK YOU!!

Thank you so much to Stage 3 Motorsports, Vet Tix and the other donors who made this possible. Seeing Michael Jackson ONE was awesome! Our kids LOVED the music, the acrobats, and the dancing. Seeing their faces light up with smiles and happiness the whole show was rewarding in itself! They even had a hologram of Michael towards the end, and it was a bittersweet realization that he really is gone and this was the closest thing we'd get to see him in concert. We're beyond blessed to have such amazing supporters of military like you guys. I'm forever grateful that I got to take my family somewhere as a thank you for their hard work and support during my deployment. Thank you guys so much!

I would like to personally thank all of the great people who have donated to my Hero's Wish. It is because of people like you and VET TIX that keeps us knowing that we are not forgotten. This event was the first one I have been to since being severely injured and losing my men on 22 April 2011. I had one of the best times of my life. I would like for the special people who have donated and VET TIX to know that you have a special place in my heart. My spirit has been lifted, I realized that life doesn't have to be stuck in the house isolated. All of you were apart of this and hopefully it touches your hearts as much as it touched mine. Thank you and may GOD bless you all.

From the bottom of my heart, and my families, I want to thank all the donors who made this trip possible. I never got to experience Disneyland until I was almost an adult, so the "magic" of the "Magic Kingdom" was lost on me. But watching my young kids, wide eyed, meet the characters, ride the attractions and stare up into a brilliant fireworks display really allowed me to see the park through their eyes. Magic is absolutely the perfect term to describe what they were experiencing. These are memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Thank you all so much for helping make this trip a reality! Semper Fi!

First and foremost, wow I would like to thank everyone who made this experience possible. The game was amazing and definitely an experience I will never forget. I got to meet my all time favorite player to cap off the night. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who made those possible. God bless you all
