Current Hero's Wishes
My Hero's Wish is to attend the Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers game at AT&T Stadium with my family. I recently returned home after spending nine months deployed overseas. During part of that deployment, I was forward deployed to a bare-base location where we endured repeated ballistic-missile attacks and defensive intercepts. After months of long hours, alarms, uncertainty, and being separated from home, returning to normal life has taken time. My family has supported me through 18 years of deployments, missed milestones, and unpredictable schedules. This wish is as much for them as it is for me: a chance to spend the day together at one of football's greatest rivalries and create a positive memory after a difficult deployment.

Hello my name is Donavan. I went on deployment in Iraq and Kuwait. I have been away from my family for about 9 months. I just want to spend the time with my family for loss of time if possible. I am married to my wife Sierra. We got married while I was on deployment. We have 2 children, Penelope and Rowan. I am 27 years old and turn 28 on the 15th of October. My wife is also turning 28 on the 1st of October and would love if we could get our wish fulfilled. I'm apart of the 101st CAB. It was my first deployment in Iraq and Kuwait. I am located at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Lifelong wish to attend a home Steelers game with my family. We have never been to a Steelers game. If I can get this wish granted it would be a miracle. I would take my 2 sons and my dad with me to the game cause his health is failing. I have never asked for anything like this. I appreciate the chance to fulfill a dream come true so I thank you in advance.

Military life means missing birthdays, ordinary weeknights, and the everyday moments that keep a family grounded. Through the long hours, thinking about my family is what carries me. We are a massive Ravens household, and following our team has always been a vital connection to home and normalcy for me. I made a promise to my family that we would celebrate our time together and make up for lost time by going to a Ravens game. It would mean the world to walk through the gates of M&T Bank Stadium together as a family and cheer on our team in person!

I’m an Active Duty Army Officer, and this wish is to celebrate my return home after a year of combat duty. I received the Combat Action Badge during this tour and unfortunately lost 8 comrades. I would greatly appreciate the honor of attending a Dallas Cowboys home game, ideally the Thanksgiving home game against Philadelphia, with my mom, step-dad, and fiancé, who are all 100% disabled veterans.

To our Generous donors, Thank you so much for helping us in taking our family to Disney for a much needed vacation, and the ability to achieve a dream of ours in taking our children on a trip to Disney. Our family visited all of the parks, and also met some of our favorite Disney characters. We were able to attend a character breakfast where the kids were able to meet Eyeore, Piglett, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh. They also met Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Russel from the movie “Up”. Their favorite rides were the Kilimanjaro Safari ride at Animal Kingdom, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios, and Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom. We were also able to coordinate with my mother in law to watch the kids on two separate evenings, allowing for my wife and I to have a date night. We visited Magic Kingdom for dinner and Epcot, which is currently having their annual flower and garden festival. It was wonderful to be able to have some time as just husband and wife and focus on us outside of the normal craziness of life. Our family can not thank you enough for your generosity. Your gift allowed us to take a trip as a family where we could focus on each other, relax and have fun. All while creating memories we will remember forever. Thank you, SSG Casey Donovan

Dear VetTix and Gracious Donors, Thank you so much for granting my wish! It was exactly what the family and I needed to disconnect with the stressors of life and reconnect with each other. I never thought that I would ever be able to take my children to Disney World. Thanks to your generous contributions, I was able to do just that. My kids and I had an amazing time at the most magical place on earth and there's no better season to visit Disney World than right before Christmas. The experience was nothing like I could ever imagine, it was far more than I ever expected. The park was breathtaking, as it was decorated so beautifully. Going to the park allowed us to create memories that will last a life time. Growing up, my family was never able to afford taking me and my brothers to Disney World or Disneyland and I wanted to be able to do things for my children that my family was never able to do for me. I want to help give them the opportunity to grow, travel and experience things that were unattainable for me at my young age. All of which is part of the reason I joined the military, to have a better life than I did, to work hard to remove some of the barriers that made growing up with a single parent, incredibly challenging. You all made it possible for me take my family and as an added bonus, I was able to pay all costs to surprise my mother with the trip as well. My mother has always dreamed of going to Disney World and as mentioned before, she never had the means to make it possible. With careful coordination with her medical care providers, she was approved for the trip and was able to receive treatment just minutes from the park. The trip was not only a surprise for my mother, but for the kids as well. Upon returning from deployment, I spent months trying to conceal my excitement for the surprise of a lifetime. There are no words to truly express how thankful I am for all the donors that made this wish possible for me and my family. This incredible opportunity is one I'm sure we will never forget. On behalf of my family, we wish to express our heartfelt THANK YOU to all those who helped make our Hero's Wish a reality. The experience we had attending Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was remarkable and will be something my kids will remember for a long time. Even though we're big Harry Potter fans, attending this play on Broadway would not have happened without the generosity of all the donors and VetTix. While in NYC, we also took time to visit the 9/11 Memorial and the Intrepid Museum which helped my kids better understand the many ways in which we can serve our communities.
