The Mortgage Matchup Center is a fabulous venue. I ha been there many times over the years for various events. There are no bad seats in the house. My wife, granddaughter, great grandson, and I had awesome seats in Section 214, Row 12, Seats 15-18, across from the backdrop. The first and only time I had seen Disney on Ice was with my children, meaning the mother of my granddaughter who accompanied me tonight, about thirty-five years ago. What fond memories! I found this description of the presentation online: "Disney on Ice Presents Let's Dance! is a touring ice show featuring classic and new Disney stories with a party theme, starring Mickey, Minnie, and friends as DJs mixing favorite songs from Frozen 2, Moana, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Disney's Wish, encouraging audience participation to dance and sing along. The show incorporates high-energy performances with beloved characters like Anna, Elsa, Maui, Simba, and Ariel coming to life on the ice, offering a magical, interactive experience for families." (AI Overview) The colorful costumes, graphics, FX, lights, projections onto the ice, along with the acrobatics, singing, dancing, skating, etc., made for an absolutely amazing fantasy. My little tike was so happy, which is all that really mattered to me. He sang and waved the sword (hook) we bought him. Thank you to the Carolina Ballet for allowing me and a friend to attend yesterday’s performance of Carmen Suite. Your generous donation of two tickets is very much appreciated by this Marine Corps veteran. Every single staff member that we encountered was extremely kind, helpful, and professional. Both performances were amazing. The ballet’s choreography was extraordinarily beautiful as was the costuming and the lighting. We are very fortunate to have the Carolina Ballet in Raleigh and your presence in the community enriches all of us and elevates the arts to a new level. I’m very glad to hear that the Carolina Ballet will be moving to a permanent home and I will investigate my ability to help make a small gift. I look forward to seeing future productions of the Carolina Ballet at the Martin Marietta Center for Performing Arts. Those productions will follow on the heels of what was a truly memorable experience for me yesterday. Thank you again for your kind generosity.
