Past Hero's Wishes
I am currently in Afgahnistan and scheduled for block leave in May 2012. My wife and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary January 16th 2012 and again for the 4th time I was not there. When we were married we were not in a typical wedding and I never proposed in the conventional dream way. My Hero's wish is to take my son (1yr), daughter (5 yr), and wife to Disney World in Orlando Florida in May and somehow arrange a public vow renewal where I can wear my Dress uniform and get on one knee for my much deserving wife. She has supported me through every moment of our life and my career with minimal complaint. I would love to show her that she and my Family are what keeps me focused and able to maintain my resiliancy through deployments and my Army career. Additionaly this would grant the wish of my daughter which asks if I will take her to Disney and get her cotton candy. There is no date but if this dream is possible I am sure I can get the date arranged to work together for this. Thank you again for all you do as sponsors and supporting Soldiers.

Thank You Message from the Hero:
Thank you for every Donation recieved and the support that everyone has given. This wish was a truly amazing memory for my family and I. We recieved the tickets for Disney right before my return from Afghanistan and then Disney went above and beyong by granting my wish to renew my vows to my wife in the rose garden in Dress Blues. We also had a princess breakfast in the castle for my wife and daughter. Needless to say this was very amazing and we are so greatful to everyone. Thank you very much.

My Hero's wish is to enjoy a full Nascar weekend with pit passes and if possible, meet Dale Jr. Don't really care which race or where. I am currently in Afghanistan on deployment with the 45th IBCT, 1/179 INF BN, E Co 700 BSB as a part of the Recovery/Maintenance Team. We have suffered many losses here. While here many of us where able to watch a few of the races. Many of us ordered cars and trucks and started a RC race schedule with qualifying and points. Of course, I put the "88" and a few logos on the side of my truck. Sent pictures to JR Motorsports. They thought it was cool. I didn't get to make all the races due to missions but, when I did, it was a good way to get away from the elements. What a way to get back into the swing of things after I get home. I am not real sure when that will be yet. Should be before the race at Texas. My request would be at a track that I have not been to yet. Maybe Kansas Speedway? Like I said earlier, any track is good with me.

My name is SMSgt Don Russo I will be returning in February or March 2012. Over the past 2 years, I relocated my family from Europe back to the US; got them settled in our new duty station; then went on several temporary duty assignments for about a year. I have not spent a lot of quality time with them and a vacation is well overdue. Needless to say, I've missed lots of birthdays and holidays and I want to make it up to my wonderful wife and my beautiful children. I hope to take my kids to Disneyland and my wife to Manhattan and Venice beaches and other attractions around LA and San Diego. My Hero's wish is that I would like to take my wife and 3 kids to Disneyland in the spring of 2012. I would greatly appreciate tickets to Disneyland. I'll need 5 tickets because I have 3 kids ages 8,3,and 2 plus my wife and I.

My wish is for New England Patriots tickets for a Sunday or Monday game. Whether it's the current season or the following season. My wife, being a veteran and a Patriots fan as well, would be ecstatic to be able to attend a game. Since my injury the thing thing that heals me the most is her happiness. This would do that more than most anything else. I married into a New England Patriots family which makes me a fan by proxy. My wife, who is also a veteran (OIF) experienced as much emotional trauma as I did physical trauma when I was injured during OEF. This would be more for her than me but her happiness is what continues to heal my wounds. Thank you

Thank You Message from the Hero:
I thought I had submitted this but I couldn't find it in a search so here goes... This was a wonderful gift. The seats were absolutely amazing. We had such a great time. It was a treat for me as much as it was for my wife and her parents. Thank you so much. And I apologize for not having an image... we were having so much fun we didn't have a chance to take a picture (and my iPhone died)

I am returning from Deployment to Iraq, going home to Nashville, TN for Christmas to visit my wife and my twin sons. I wish to attend the Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars game on the 24th of December, 2011, and am unable to afford tickets due to child support payments. I would love it if I could give this to them as a Christmas gift and also as a gift to myself. Thank You.

I was extremely happy when I received the phone call from Vet Tix the morning of the game telling me that they had tickets for me. As a born Texan (my father was in the Air Force, so we didn't spend a lot of time there)I have always been a rabid Dallas Cowboys fan through thick and thin, the thick times obviously being their Super Bowl wins in the 90s and the thin times being any time they don't make the playoffs. I have been deployed four times, for a total of about 40 months, I expect to be home sometime in late November, early December from the most recent tour in Iraq. I would love to take my wife and two boys, ages 7 and 4 to a Cowboys game, it would be a great bonding event for us as we all love sports. My wife and boys have been a great support to me as we have dealt with many difficult situations that not only has my units gone through, but also the difficulties that being gone from your family bring, each time in new locations, with new people. I think this would be a great way to express gratitude to the people who ache and suffer every step of the way along with their soldier. I would love to attend the December 11 game against the NY Giants at Cowboys Stadium as I am currently stationed at Ft Hood. We would forever be greatful if you could make this dream come true.

Thank You Message from the Hero:
We had the most amazing time ever at the Cowboys-Eagles game on Christmas even though the Cowboys ended up on the losing end. It was truly awesome to be treated like royalty in a Silver Suite at Cowboys stadium. I was able to bring along 7 other veterans and rabid Cowboys fans as well. A big thanks to the donors and their generosity!!
