Hello, my name is Stephanie. I’m 29 years old and currently serving in the Army. Over the course of my career, I’ve had one overseas deployment that changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. During that deployment, my family endured unimaginable pain. We lost a loved one, and I received the devastating news that my daughter had been a victim of S/A at the hands of someone we trusted. Around the same time, my wife’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Being away from my family during such a difficult time was one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced. I couldn’t be there to support them when they needed me most, and that weighs heavy on my heart. All I want now is to give my little girl a moment of happiness, a chance to feel like a carefree child again. Taking her to the happiest place on earth is a small dream, but one I believe she deserves after everything she’s been through. While I know this won’t fix what has happened, I hope it can bring a smile to her face and create a precious memory for her to hold onto.
