National Geographic Live: Chasing Monarchs at the Hammer Theatre Center (101 Paseo De San Antonio, San Jose, CA 95113) is a breathtaking exploration of one of nature’s most awe‑inspiring migrations. Through the lens of National Geographic Explorer Jaime Rojo, audiences are taken on a journey spanning thousands of miles — from the forests of Mexico to the fields of North America — tracing the monarch butterfly’s delicate yet determined path. Rojo’s presentation blends science, art, and conservation storytelling. His photography captures not only the beauty of the monarchs but also the fragility of their existence. The event dives deep into the environmental challenges threatening their survival — habitat loss, climate change, and dwindling food sources — while spotlighting the efforts of researchers and citizen scientists working to protect them. The experience is both intimate and global: intimate in the way Rojo shares personal fieldwork stories, and global in its message about interconnected ecosystems and shared responsibility. The visuals are stunning, and the live narration adds a human touch that makes the science accessible and inspiring. By the end, attendees leave with a renewed appreciation for the monarchs’ resilience and a sense of urgency to preserve their migration routes. It’s not just a presentation — it’s a call to action wrapped in breathtaking imagery. 💌 Special Thanks A heartfelt thank‑you to Hammer Theatre Center and Vet Tix for their generosity and collaboration in supporting veterans and making it possible for us to attend this inspiring event. Your commitment to honoring veterans through cultural experiences like Chasing Monarchs is deeply appreciated. ~Joey Casarez
