Thank you so much for your generosity! This was way more than just a fun outing for my family! I’m an Army Veteran and Army Widow and I have been trying to find ways to help my 2nd chapter and 11yo son bond. He was only 4 when we lost his father so having a man around is something we are both navigating. Their love of the Steelers is something they share so I have been trying to foster that but never thought I’d actually be able to ever be able to get us to a live NFL game. They had so much fun preparing for the game, talking about the game and being at the game! They were both like kids on Christmas morning! Seeing them fist bump, high five, hug and whirl their terrible towels together was such an amazing experience. The Steelers didn’t even win but my son said it was still the best day of his life! It may have just been a football game for most people but it was truly and amazing bonding experience for them and a very healing experience for me to watch a great man step into shoes that probably feel too big to fill. I have never been a huge football fan but I can’t believe how into the game I got and the excitement on my son’s face when he was explaining rules and plays to me during the game. I truly can’t thank you enough for this experience and please know it may just seem like a simple good deed to give away football tickets but it actually made such a huge, positive impact on my family.
