Although my wife and I don’t live in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, we were going to be in the Charleston area, so we jumped at the opportunity to get tickets through Vet Tix for the Eye To Eye Tour. Both my wife and I are long-time Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats fans, so we were excited for our first opportunity to see them perform live. Several years ago, we had attended another concert at the same venue, which was another appeal for my wife and I. The staff of Credit One Stadium were outstanding, from the young lady scanning tickets at the gate, to the staff inside the stadium who allowed me and my wife to take the elevator to the upper level (my wife had knee replacement surgery several years ago and she has difficulty negotiating steps). Early September weather in the Lowcountry of South Carolina can feel very much like summer, and with this being an outside show, we were mindful of this possibility. As it turned out, thanks to cloudy skies, the temperature was very pleasant in the upper 70’s at showtime. No rain fell from the clouds, and there was a steady breeze that kept us comfortable in our upper deck seats. Once in our seats, we had a great view of the stage (from the right side) and the audio quality was excellent for an outside venue. Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats put on a great performance; we were blown away by their musicianship! While I knew going into the concert that both bands would split stage time equally, I think my wife and I could have sat through another full set from Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats! We will definitely see them again should the opportunity ever present itself. Although we were not as familiar with My Morning Jacket, this was a great double bill. We were thrilled when members of My Morning Jacket joined Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats for an amazing cover of Joe Cocker’s, “Feelin’ Alright;” a song that showcased the vocal and instrumental talents of both bands. My wife and I would like to thank Live Nation for the donation of these tickets to the Eye To Eye Tour. Even in our early sixties (and retired), we still enjoy going to concerts, and this was, by far, the best concert we had seen in 2024. Thank you, Live Nation (and Vet Tix) for making this special evening possible!
