After seeing Metallica on Night 1 of their M72 World Tour, we decided that Night 2 was a must. It was going to be a completely new show with different opening acts along with Metallica performing an entirely different setlist. Aside from the extended inclement weather delay that forced the omission of Ice Nine Kills from performing and what seemed to be a shortened set for Five Finger Death Punch, it was as equally as spectacular or possibly even better than Friday’s show. On Night 2, we brought our friend Tom along with us because he really enjoyed his first rock concert on Saturday at a much smaller venue for Cheap Trick. I wanted to see how he would feel after a heavy metal show at a much larger arena and judging by his reaction, I think he was pretty blown away. The M72 World Tour was also my first time seeing Metallica. I have always heard how great their shows were but never had the opportunity to make it to one of their previous concerts. After seeing them on Night 1, it was a no-brainer to comeback for Night 2. Kirk Hammett was amazing to watch on lead guitar and Rob Trujillo is exceptionally cool on bass. James Hetfield was both spot on with his vocals and on rhythm guitar particularly during the performance of “The Unforgiven“. My favorite however, has to be watching Lars Ulrich on drums. It is truly a sight to marvel at. I also have to comment on how great their sound crew is. Everything was so crystal clear and you could really distinctly hear each instrument without distortion. This is probably what sets Metallica shows apart from the rest. Thank you Live Nation for donating tickets and Vet Tix for making them available in order for us to return and complete the second half of the Metallica: M72 World Tour. The seats you provided were even better and with a much closer view than the ones we had for the first show. We cannot thank you enough for all the wonderful performances we’ve been able to see because of your generosity.
