Thank you, VetTix, The Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission, Crest Insurance Group, Scottsdale Plaza Resort, inductees Abdihakim "Abdi" Abdirahman, Rich Dozer, Terry "Tito" Francona, Richard Jefferson, Jerry Kindall, Charli Turner Thorne, Bobby Winkles, and the many sponsors, partners, event organizers, and your fantastic staffs, for a most incredible evening! This was my second time attending the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Both occasions were at the blessing of Vet Tix. Thank you! It is truly mind-boggling on so many levels. From the time my friend, Darren, and I walked into the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, it was like we were floating on clouds in a dream. The affair was bigger than anything we could have imagined. So were the people, including the members of various organizations. It was as though we were treading in the land of the giants. Everyone was so beautiful and impeccably adorned. We enjoyed talking to other guests, including Desireé Reed-Francois, the new Athletic Director of the University of Arizona, who graciously introduced herself to us. We had a blast! The short rib dinner was outstanding! The meat fell apart just looking at it. Everything was delicious. Top quality! We sat at an exceptional table, #32. It was on the right side of the stage four rows back. The auditorium was not particularly large, so that was a good thing. Visibility was a clear shot, which was awesome! My table was filled with other veterans and our guests. In fact, there were three veterans' tables that sat ten people each at $300 per person. We were honored and applauded, which made us feel special too. We were grateful for our National Anthem's having been sung. The ceremony was surreal. I could not believe I was there honoring such greats, especially my favorite, Terry "Tito" Francona. I grew up in Massachusetts, so I am a lifetime Red Sox fan. Tito broke our curse in 2004 and led us to our first World Series win, in 86 years, over our rivals, the Yankees and Cardinals. He followed up with another World Series victory in 2007. He is dear to my heart! I loved hearing the stories, including the experiences of the inductees in Arizona, as I am a relative newcomer to this amazing State. Their testimonies afforded me a deeper respect for them and more appreciation for Arizona. Again, thank you, VetTix, The Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission, Crest Insurance Group, Scottsdale Plaza Resort, inductees Abdihakim "Abdi" Abdirahman, Rich Dozer, Terry "Tito" Francona, Richard Jefferson, Jerry Kindall, Charli Turner Thorne, Bobby Winkles, and your tremendous teams, for all you do for veterans and this great country! We truly appreciate you! I surely hope I will be considered a guest at the next induction ceremony. Hint, hint! Sincerely, Chuck
