I’ve attached a snapshot of my friend and I rocking out to Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer”. She recently lost her mother around the same time I had lost my father about ten years ago. I met her at University after I got retired from the military and she ended up going into the reserves with potentially my influence and of course my support. It’s these experiences that have strengthened our “brotherhood” despite being military members in different times and spaces. These opportunities help us heal on levels often overlooked and add back in the color to our lives when it all seems to be washed out. In short, but with boundless gratitude, thank you.
