This past Friday was awesome - not just because I was able to attend a Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert via VetTix, but because I was able to attend it with my daughter for her birthday as well as two soldiers I deployed with to Iraq when I was on active duty. I hadn't seen either of these men in almost a full decade so I was thrilled to find out that they both lived less than an hour and half from where I recently moved to in Alabama. It was amazing to be able to catch up with them and I'm so incredibly thankful that, thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of the donors, I was given the opportunity to get back in touch with and continue friendships with old battle buddies. My eleven year old daughter also found it was neat that, though she didn't know who they were, the two veterans certainly knew her already, with one of them even remembering carrying her as an infant in her car seat.
