Subject: A Heartfelt Thank You to UC Berkeley Dear UC Berkeley Administration and Athletics Department, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my profound gratitude for the tickets to the recent Southern California vs. California game. The electrifying atmosphere, the unwavering spirit, and the exceptional display of athleticism were nothing short of breathtaking. As a disabled veteran, I've faced many challenges in life, but the generosity and inclusiveness I felt from the Cal community was genuinely heartwarming. Moreover, having my son, a proud freshman at Cal, by my side during such an intense game made the experience all the more special. The match was indeed a nail-biter. From Jaylin Smith's exceptional deflection in the final moments to the admirable strategy displayed by both teams, it was a game to remember. Although the Bears came up just short, the passion, commitment, and resilience they demonstrated on the field exemplified the spirit of Cal. Coach Justin Wilcox's comments post-game, emphasizing the team's talent and potential, were both apt and encouraging. I am incredibly proud that my son is a part of the UC Berkeley family, and I am confident he is in the right place to grow, learn, and flourish. The support and camaraderie I witnessed amongst the Cal community, even in the face of a challenging game, speaks volumes about the university's values. Once again, thank you for making this experience possible. It served as a poignant reminder of the power of sports to bring people together and of the incredible community that thrives at UC Berkeley. Warm regards, Maury “Mack” McFadden
