We attended Willie Nelson’s 50th annual Fourth of July Picnic at the newly constructed Q2 stadium and wow! What a blast it was! The concert doors opened up at 1 pm so country music fans come get and get merchandise, food, and beverages before the concert even started. The first band began performing at 2 pm and from then on until late in the evening, the whole building was rockin’. Our seats, provided by Vet Tix, were fantastic - on the ground level, in the front, slightly off to stage right. We were blessed with good weather, slight cloud cover with a good breeze and temperatures that felt like the low 90’s (that’s a major difference from the triple digit temperatures we’ve been experiencing the last couple of weeks. Our favorite part of the show was a local band - Shane Smith and The Saints - who grew up playing in local bars and restaurants here in Austin before making it to the big time. All in all it was an incredible experience and made for a wonderful Fourth of July! Thank you Vet Tix!
