Dear Vet Tix and Washington Nationals MLB - Thank you very much for the tickets to the Nats vs Mets game on 8/2. We had a great time and couldn't be happier that the Nats won. Our seats were along the right field line in section 228, so our vantage point was good too. However, I have two pieces of advice for upcoming Vet Tix holders. First is know that you can't take non-transparent bags larger than 5"X7" into the park. The only type of bag that is acceptable is a see-through clear tote. Since we weren't aware of that we had to rent a locker at BinBox located outside the stadium near right field at a cost of $13.88. Ouch! Apparently you can purchase approved bags in their store or on-line with Amazon. Second, be prepared to spend an overpriced amount for the price of food and drinks. My wife and I each had a hot dog (Nathan's), an order of nachos with cheese, and a 25 oz Bud Light (which we shared) for a mere $38.16 with tax. Pretty high for retired seniors on a fixed income. So I guess we'll make certain to eat at home before we arrive at the park. FYI, you can take in one 12 oz unopened bottled water per person. The best purchase I made was to get a new Nat's hat and was given a 15% military appreciation discount. As an added piece of advice, take the metro train or bus to the park if you can as nearby parking is limited. We took the metro train at got off 2 blocks from the park at the Green Line Navy Yard stop. Thank you all who made the date night for my wife and I a real pleasure. Smooth sailing and GO NATS!
