Thank you Vettix.org, Firebird Raceway, and Verizon for a enjoyable evening of racing excitement. You could not have picked a better day of beautiful weather, clear skies and perfect temperature. Our seats were just before the Start/Finish line so you could see the whole track from our position. Close to the action, the roaring sound of the engines made my grandson and wide eyed as the cars raced by us for the first time. It was a great way to expose him to his first auto race. We wore foam ear protectors that helped. Parking was very handy, as they had handicapped parking. They did have some golf carts to take people to their section. We didn't realize just how far a walk it was to the Brian Grandstand, all the way to the opposite side of the track. If I had known that, I would have asked for a lift in the golf cart. We did have a great time, although the yellow flag came out just a few laps before the end of the race. That made the race anti-climatic as the finish was under caution, making it impossible for any driver to pass at the last minute. We all were grateful for a good time at the races.
