Dear Vettix, I am a USAF service connected brain trauma survivor. My injury resulted in a week long coma; when I woke up I had the mental function of an infant. After 6 months in hospitals, I was released with the mental function of an adolescent. Creating a self directed out patient therapy, I engaged whatever mental stimulation I could to continue recovering. Years later, my VA care givers label my recovery as miraculous.Not boasting about anything, I simply kept relearning by all means available. During that time and until present day, there was (is) no bigger influence to my recovery than exposure to the arts. I credit writing, movies, and particularly live theater with having huge influence on who I am now, and however I function. The Vettix / Nederlander Concert program / donations have the certain chance to positively impact other veterans battling for their recovery - of whatever type.
