Thank you KBI for the donation of tickets to the Martainsville race. I am retired and on disability, unable to work. If not for this donation of tickets, there is no way I would have been able to attend the race. I have a friend that is going through a divorce and has lost the ability to see his child due issues between he and his soon to be ex-wife. He has mentioned suicide and I have reached out for help on his behalf... I originally was going to attend this race with with my son, but he ended up becoming overburdened with homework. At this time I felt lead to invite the friend in which I have been writing about. Thankfully he agreed and were able to spend a lot of time talking while traveling to and from the track almost ten hours total. He had never been to a NASCAR event or even watched any on tv, so according to him, he didn't know why he agreed... During our time talking, he confided to me that he had actually planned to kill himself in the evening, but after spending time at the race with me and the friends we made sitting near us in the stands, he realized that he did ot want to carry out his original plan. On the what home, I took him to a hospital to get additional help and, as of a few minutes ago (I just spoke with him) he says that he no longer has a desire to kill himself. He says that talk we had, plus how adamant I was about getting him help, he said that he realized he still did have something to live for. I feel that, as corny as this may sound, this race helped save the life of my friend. Plus, due to the amount to fun he had while at the race, he says that he is now a NASCAR fan! I mean this with as much sincerity as I can muster via typing on my cellphone, thank you. Thank you for the amazing day, thank you for giving my friend and I a reason to spend so much time together, but most of all, thank you for the part that your organization unwittingly played a roll in saving my friends life. No amount of thank yous will be enough, but THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the infinite power, THANK YOU!
