I just wanted to leave a belated review for the tickets I recently received. I was given tickets to the Nebraska Cornhuskers vs McNeese State football game on September 6th, 2014. I am a United States Marine Corps veteran. My brother, who is active duty Army, was also awarded tickets to this event. We went together as a family. It was three of our sisters, my brothers wife, two of my brothers, my 10-year-old daughter and myself. It was a bittersweet day. My brother was back home visiting a week before a deployment with 10th Special Forces Group out of Colorado. My sisters, one of which is a retired Navy officer, were also back home visiting from Minnesota and from Chicago. We were gathered together to see my brother before his deployment as well as to see my 8-year-old son in the hospital. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia. I had spent endless days and nights in the hospital, so it was refreshing to be able to get out of the hospital for a few hours and try to enjoy myself. During the game it was found out that my sons appendix had burst and he needed an emergency procedure to drain it, because he was too weak to have it removed. We ended up spending 33 days in the hospital and my son is finally home. That is the reason for the late review. I understand that this is the first time that tickets for a Husker game have been donated and I wanted to make it known that it was truly appreciated. We all really enjoyed ourselves at the game and it allowed us time to try to enjoy ourselves and forget about the pain my son was going through. Someday I hope to be able to take him to a game as well. Again, thank you very much. There is no place like Nebraska!
