This was a wonderful opportunity to experience some high school nostalgia with an actual high school friend! We used to chase a similar band around to their local shows and this took us back to those bonding moments and making a new one! I've become a huge fan of Breaking Benjamin only recently, wondering how they completely missed my radar back in high school. They performed a wonderful montage of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, the end of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, and Metallica's Enter Sandman. Bad Wolves, who opened, finished their set with their updated rendition of The Cranberries' Zombie, and Five Finger Death Punch brought a whole bunch of kids on stage for a song, and also honored those in recovery. That last one hit close to home since I have a cousin who's been in & out of recovery, most recently due to having been present at the shooting of Route 91 in Las Vegas. It meant a lot to see the efforts of people in recovery acknowledged. Thank you so much to FPC - Live for this opportunity!
