Thank you to The Phoenix Theatre Company for hosting Vet Tix members at today’s production of “Coming From Away.” Twelve actors variously spoke and sang in multiple roles as passengers and flight crew of some of the 7,000 whose flights were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland when all air traffic was ordered to immediately land and stay grounded for five days after the 9/11 attack. They also depicted the many gracious Newfoundlanders who hosted them in a recovery effort far from NYC! I was a 9/11 recovery worker in NYC during those same five days. Whether they occurred in Gander or Manhattan, the stories need to be told and remembered.
