Hi! Thank you for the opportunity to attend this event. I was able to get outside my normal comfort zone and invent some of my friends from my work. This is a huge first for me. I’ve been in Washington exactly for a year, and I’ve kept to myself. Yesterday I was not only able to celebrate the ability to enjoy something with my “civilian” friends, but also the ability to realize that time does heal all. I’m not the same person I was ten years ago, nor one year ago. Opportunities like this that you’ve presented me help me on my journey, and remind me that life is worth living to experience moments like yesterday.
