Unfortunately it rained almost all day Sunday. I went to the event, but was thoroughly soaked from walking in the rain. I gave up waiting for the rain to stop, around 4:00 PM and headed back home. I did hear on the radio that the race ended up staying around 5 or so. Thanks for the tickets though!

There are times when free tickets mean going to an event that one was not planning on going to, and times when it means saving money for an event that one was planning on going to. For this one, however, the price of the tickets were out of range for me and other veterans. You made it possible to attend this very historic event, as it was NASCAR's very first street race, held in the year of their 75th Anniversary. A massive thank you to “Chicago Street Race - NASCAR, Veteran Tickets Foundation Purchases, seneca m.” This was a truly memorable weekend getting to be a part of the First Chicago Street Race. We were positively drenched from the rain but got the experience of a lifetime! I’ll be looking for more NASCAR events; I haven’t felt this sense of belonging as a Veteran in quite a while.
