We have been to quite a lot of concerts, performances, rockfests, gigs, and festivals over the years but the performances last night (humorously) revealed our place on the world clock of passing time! Starting with the opening act of (upcoming) Pop Star "Dixi" -and her performance of "A Letter to Me" et.el., the crowd of at least 10-15,000 Z-Gen Teenagers (and under) were exhuberantly jubilent that she was singing directly to them ..."Oh, my God!!!" But THEN... Nickelodeon/Viacom (boy band) "Big Time Rush" appeared, which filled the amphitheater almost to its 20,000 seat capacity of screaming, never-seated, hysterical, sign-toting, teenage wunderlust fanatics; who's decible ratings could not be measured! BUT... the group was very talented, and actually seemed to match the excitement and energy being thrust at them from this age-tiny (but loud) audience!! ;) In fact, directly in front of us was this 70lb (stand-on-her-seat, overboard) young girl with more "tats" than most Brother Marines I have known; expressing her undying "love" for each member of the group. That is, until she got sick from all of the energy drinks, and concert engagement -with her friends ushering her out (we assume to vomit in more acceptable locations)?!! In all, they were good performances, and it was a treat to experience all of the energy being generated by this young crowd. It did allow us to appreciate the concerts of our own time though. BUT, as in all things new and different, it was yet one more experience that we found to be not only wonderfully different and refreshing, but wholly entertaining as well. And Live Nation needs to be thanked for allowing us -its military members- to have such opportunities. So, THANK YOU Live Nation, and Thank You, VetTix for giving us all that (continual) expression of appreciation... you guys ROCK!
