My husband recently deployed so we try and find fun things to do to stay busy. I took the kids to the Duke football game this past weekend as one of those fun things!! This was my kids first football game of any sort, and the experience is still being talked about! It was a great game even in the rain!!! My son has his little 8 year old heart set on going to Duke and playing sports for them. Now my 6 year old daughter is set as well, she loved being by the cheerleaders and trying to memorize their dances so she could come home and recreate them. The school was absolutely beautiful, we walked around for a bit after the game, and everybody we came across were genuinely wonderful. We can't wait to do it again!!!

I am very grateful for everybody involved in the ticket donations as this was a great opportunity to spend time with the family even if it did lead to getting a little wet at times. The seats were in a great location, and I got to chat with a lot of other soldiers and veterans who were seated in the same section. The best part was getting to watch Duke win, and I think my son is now a Duke fan for life!
