I didn't know exactly what to expect, going to a ballet that was not classical. But I was surprised and loved this performance. I liked the fact that it included two singers and a tap dancer as well as the ballet company and the orchestra. Thank you so much California Ballet for this wonderful experience. Everything about this night was magical.

Many thanks to the California Ballet Company for tickets to their outstanding performance of The Great Gatsby! It was a treat to see a ballet of the Gatsby days set to Jazz and Rag music, and so many of the audience dressed to match the Flapper era. Thanks also to the Veteran Tickets foundation for partnering with the California Ballet Company and the San Diego Civic Theatre to provide us Vets and our families the chance to see events like this one.

Up till now I haven't seen anything in regards to The Great Gatsby, unlike my kids who have seen and read about it. I think I need to watch the movie so I can understand what I watched. Thank you VetTix and California Ballet Company for your generous donation of tickets to Friday night's presentation of The Great Gatsby. We've now seen four presentations though the California Ballet Company and, as usual, they did a great justice to a classic story- the performance was excellent! We especially appreciated the accompanying jazz music; all the musicians were great- the symphony orchestra as usual, but also the guest singers really made the performance stand out. Please don't let the attached picture fool you, we all had a great time- I think the 7:30 pm start time was just a bit too late for my daughter, but lesson learned. We'll look for a 2pm showing the next time around.
