Incredible, there really isn't a better word to describe this event and the way we were treated by the Texas Rangers staff. We were greeted by a member of the Texas Rangers staff before we even entered the stadium. From start to finish we felt like we were getting the VIP treatment. Not only were the rangers incredible to us, but they were honoring veterans all night. A veteran threw out the first pitch, they zoomed in on some veterans in the stadium and told their stories, they honored other veterans on the field before the game. All in all the Texas Rangers were a class act and know how to treat their veterans. Probably the most important thing my son and I took away from this experience was actually talking about my experiences and what I did while serving overseas. With all the veteran talk during the whole game for the first time my 9 year old boy started asking some pretty heavy questions about what I did in Iraq. For the first time on the ride home I was able to open up with him and let him know some of the things that veterans have and are continuing to do in Iraq and Afghanistan. The next day was camouflage day at his school. He asked me if I had an old hat that I used to wear while serving so that he could wear it to school. He has never asked me before about my military stuff, or asked to wear it because he knows that I don't like talking about it or having it brought up. I don't know what it was about this night that made us finally speak about what has happened and still happening in the middle east. I think in a large part being around that many veterans and seeing the support that not only the Texas Rangers, Vettix, and the other companies that were involved in this event, but the fans that gave a standing ovation to every veteran that was mentioned during the game, made it easier to start to tell my son part of my story. We have been to plenty of rangers games before, but nothing like this. To be able to go on the field and watch batting practice, to having one of the players come up and give my son and his friend a batting practice ball was incredible. Not to mention the personal visit from Rangers Captain (the mascot) to our seats where he gave not only myself, but my friend and our two kids an awesome goody bag full of stuff. Again I would like to give a sincere thank you to all the people involved, especially Vettix and the Texas Rangers and the MLB for making this happen! This was a once in a lifetime experience that not only will our guests not forget, but that my son and I will never forget, not only because of the actual experience at the game, but because even if it was for the evening it allowed me to open up and tell him things he has wanted to know about for years, and for him to truly see how incredible it can be to be a veteran! Thank you again for an evening we will surely never forget!

I would like to thank Tickets.com for the amazing experience at the Rangers game on Sep 28th. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed being on the field during batting practice. I was joined by my brother (also a vet), his daughter and one of my best friends. Thanks again to Tickets.com and Vettix for this opportunity. I am the one with the Horse on my head!
