Event Feedback
Dear North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Thank you so much for the tickets to see Jake Shimabukuro! My son and I had a lovely evening! We recently moved to the Chicago area from Hawaii. We’re big fans of Jake Shimabukuro, and it was such a treat to see him perform here! With much gratitude, Emilee Baldini

thank you to the North Shore Center for the performing arts. We had a wonderful time at the Jake Shimabukuro show. excellent holiday concert. The fact that he hung out at the end of the concert and met everyone and signed autographs, was amazing.

Mele Kalikimaka to my wife & I! For us, the holiday began with a special gift from Jake Shimabukuro, VetTix, and all their sponsors. Mr. Shimabukuro’s joyful 2-hour set was filled with high energy and unparalleled merriment—this was no “Blue Christmas.” He played several of his hits such as; Kawiki, Sakura, Piano Forte, Ichigo Ichie, Dragon and Grateful (to name only a few). And, he covered some unmistakable classics by the Beatles, Jeff Beck, Queen, Eddie Van Halen, and Mariah Carey (etc). This humble ukulele virtuoso is simply unparalleled, and the concert felt like Christmas magic. Jake was accompanied by two very special guest artists, bassist Jackson Waldhoff and singer/songwriter Justin Kawika Young. Their Aloha spirit and genuine love for people was clear within the performance—one that we would want to see over-and-over again. “We Need a Little Christmas” and ours was completed by a meet-and-greet with Jake himself--he even signed our ukuleles. Yep, we managed to bring our instruments to the concert! Needless to say, this evening made for a special date-night for my wife and I. Even today, we are still all-smiles. VetTix, YOU are the best veteran program offered and words cannot adequately describe the favorable impact this organization has on the health of veterans.
