Dear San Francisco Symphony Representative, As a disabled veteran, I am truly honored and humbled to extend my deepest gratitude to the San Francisco Symphony for providing me with the incredible opportunity to attend the performance of Gustav Mahler's Sixth Symphony on Saturday, April 1st. The entire evening was a remarkable experience, and words cannot express how much I appreciate this exceptional gift. From the moment Michael Tilson Thomas took to the stage, his passion and commitment to Mahler's powerful work were palpable. His masterful conducting brought out the full emotional range of the symphony, from the driving march of the opening movement to the soaring melody that painted Mahler's love for his wife, Alma. The SF Symphony's outstanding musicianship elevated the performance to new heights, capturing both the mischievous energy of the scherzo and the poignant sentimentality of the slow movement. As the colossal closing movement reached its climax, the two hammer blows served as a stark reminder of the inevitability of fate, resonating with the audience and leaving us all in awe of the symphony's emotional impact. This performance not only showcased the incredible talent of the San Francisco Symphony but also allowed us to reflect on the beauty and complexity of Mahler's music and its underlying themes. I am profoundly grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience and the opportunity to witness such a breathtaking performance. The San Francisco Symphony continues to be an exceptional beacon of culture and artistic excellence, and I am proud to have been included in its community. Thank you once again for this unforgettable evening, and please extend my warmest appreciation to Michael Tilson Thomas and the talented members of the San Francisco Symphony. I eagerly look forward to attending more world-class performances in the future. With my deepest gratitude and admiration, Maury M McFadden LCDR, USCG (Ret.)

Thank you San Francisco Symphony for the wonderful tickets for my wife and I to see and hear this performance. No Michael Tilton Thomas is a San Francisco icon and a fabulous conductor. It was a special treat to see him and we could not have attended without your donation of the tickets.
