Cirque Du Soleil: Amaluna

Mar 2nd 2013

My name is SSG Kurt Balmer. Cirque Du Soleil: Amaluna is visiting Seattle from January 31 through February 24th, my wish is to be able to take my wife to a weekend showing of Cirque Du Soleil: Amaluna. I recently returned from Afghanistan and money is always tight as a Soldier. My Hero's Wish would be to make my wife's wish come true, to see Cirque du Soleil. I think taking my wife to this would be great since she has wanted to see this for as long as I can remember and would be a perfect way for us to get to know each other again after a long deployment. I am requesting for 02 February but any date would be great. If at all possible we would prefer a Friday or Saturday 8 o'clock show. Thank you for your consideration of my Hero's Wish.

Pro Bowl tickets for a Wounded Warrior

Jan 23rd 2013

I am SSG Mayes, Wyatt A. On June 24 2012 I was injured while in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I was on patrol my vehicle was struck by a 200 pound command detonated IED, As a result of the IED strike I sustained a broken right Calcaneus (heal) and I burst fractured or shattered my L-3 Vertebra. I was Medevac’d out of country and underwent surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center to have my L-1 through my L-5 vertebra fused together. Due to the nature in which my Vertebra shattered I sustained major nerve damage causing intense pain and numbness that radiates through my back and left leg, I still do not have full use of my left leg. After my spinal fusion there were still a lot of pieces of my shattered vertebra in my back, one large piece was stabbing into my spinal column causing me a lot of pain so on November 13 2012 I underwent another surgery to remove pieces of my shattered vertebra and relieve the pressure on my spinal column. The surgery helped a lot but I still have Pain every day and still do not have a lot of feeling in my left leg. I am lucky to be alive after the accident I was in and I do not want people to feel sorry for me and I am not looking for handouts, this site is a great resource and I am trying to take advantage of the benefits. I am stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii while I am recovering and my wish is to attend the Pro Bowl this year. I am requesting 4 tickets so my family can attend the game with me but I will take whatever someone is willing to give Thanks for reading my story, if you do not donate for my cause please help out one of my wounded brothers or sisters in arms.

Cowboys v. Redskins game

Dec 30th 2012

My name is SGT. Brandon Kober. I am currently deployed in Afghanistan. I have been away from home for 9 months now. I am a lifelong Cowboys fan, and my wife is a die hard Redskins fan. I will be released from active duty on December 10th 2012. My wish is to get tickets to The Redskins vs Cowboys game on December 30th. What a better way to come home than to take my wife to a game.

Vet Tix and Donor, My wife and I can't thank you enough for this extremely memorable experience. Although the outcome wasn't as I had hoped, it was perfect for my wife since she is a Skins fan. The seats were incredible, and the pictures I captured will last us a lifetime. So from the Kober's I want to express our deepest gratitude for making our wish come true. Thank You a million times over, SSG Kober & Wife

Dec 30th 2012

My name is SGT. Stanley Sharp. My wish is for 4 tickets to the Saints game in New Orleans, LA. I'm currently serving in Afghanistan and will be returning the end of Aug or first of Sept. My wife and have been talking about/planning the trip ever since I deployed last Sep. Last month my wife was having some medical problems and went to the Dr. She was tested and the results came back positive for Lupus. Now the Air Force is planning to send her to a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) once all of her tests are completed.

My family and I want to thank everyone for all that you have done for my family in fullfilling our wish. Due to a recent injury we were unable to reach the seat that we were given but the awesome staff at the Superdome was extremely nice and permitted us to set in the handicap area where there were extra seats availible. We ended up on the 50 yard line at eye level. Even though the Saints lost it was an awesome game to attend. We want to extend our warmest gratitude to everyone that made this event happen for us. Thank you all so very much.

Seahawks v. 49ers; Help Make My Family's Christmas Great!

Dec 23rd 2012

My name is WO1 Brian Alterowitz. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, and won't be home until mid-February. My family: Kristina, Brianna (8), Maggie (7) and Michael (22 months), are diehard Seattle Seahawks fans. So much so that Maggie has her room decorated with Seahawks jerseys and one of Michael's first words was "Touchdown!" Kristina and the kids want very badly to go to a home game in Seattle, but we simply can't afford it. Because of this, the family has never been able to attend a game together. On December 23rd, The Seahawks play our conference rival, the San Francisco 49ers, at CenturyLink Stadium in Seattle. Please help me get them to that game! I cannot be there, because I will still be deployed, but it would make me happy knowing that, with your help, I was able to make their Christmas wishes come true. Specifically I am asking for four (4) tickets to the Seahawks / 49ers game on 23 December 2012. That would be one for Kristina, Maggie and Brianna, and one for Kristina's father, Dan, who will help her wrangle the kids. I don't think Michael needs a ticket because he won't be two years old by the time the game is played. I know I am asking a lot, but it would mean the world to me knowing that, despite the fact I can't be home for the holidays, Kristina and the kids know that there are people who support what I do, and that I am thinking about them.

Vertical is the greatest program I've seen in years for all of my heroes. While Brian was deployed to Afghanistan,he got the most amazing gift for our kids and I. Through the work of the Seattle Seahawks, vettix, and a very kind family with a suite at centurylink field,we were able to enjoy the greatest football game in comfort. When I received the call, I actually thought someone was trying to pull my leg because what I was being given was so incredible. Thank you vettix. Thank you Macomber family. Thank you Seattle Seahawks. And finally, thank you to all who do and have served. Spread the word about this great organization.

Cowboys game

Dec 23rd 2012

Corporal Hardy Mills was born in Azle and raised in Millsap TX. In December of 2002, he joined the U.S. Marines, and deployed to Iraq with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force as an Artillery Forward Observer in January of 2004. On June 29th of that year, in the city of Fallujah during Operation Phantom Fury, one of the bloodiest engagements of the war, he was on top of a guntruck when he and a fellow Marine were struck by a mortar. He was knocked unconscious and woke up with a hole in his back, and covered with blood. For several days after the attack, he was unable to hear due to the explosion. His injuries included a lacerated spleen, broken scapula, severed leg artery, both lungs collapsed, infections, and severe burns among others. The doctors said that he would probably not live through the night due to a tremendous loss of blood. After being evacuated to Germany he went through three surgeries and then to Bethesda, Maryland where he went through more surgeries, including multiple skin grafts. It was there that he was told that he would never walk again, but he proved them wrong. Corporal Mills has been medically retired from the Marine Corps and now lives with his wife Danielle and children Shane and Madelyn in FT Worth TX where he is working on a Masters Degree in Business Administration His wish is to attend a Dallas Cowboy v. Washington Redskins game with my family maybe a suite and meet some cowboys.

Disney Dream

Dec 2nd 2012

My husband, Medically Retired SSGT Randall Martel, and I are requesting any help that you can provide. Our wish is to take our family to Disney World. We would need (6) 4-8 day park hopper passes to Disney World for our family. (from 12/2/12-12/8/12) using a Disney vacation club belonging to the head of the family. Prior to my husband’s 18 month deployment, he was a police officer which was his dream job. We are both foster parents, taking in troubled teens, and I was a fulltime student working on my bachelors’ degree with hopes of going to law school to become a lawyer. Things did not go as planned and in every tragedy there are miracles peeking around corners setting you on the path to lessons learned. At the end of my husband’s 18 month deployment he was shipped to Fort Campbell Kentucky for three months of treatment then to Fort Dix New Jersey for another three months of treatment. My daughters Chelsea, Kira, Shelbie and myself followed spending our life savings to be near him while he was getting treatment for PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury. After more than 24 months the military finally put him on MRPII Orders, which made allowed him to receive treatment closer to home at Hanscomb Air Force base around 5 hours away. My dream of going to law school however was just not possible. My job became driving my husband around to his doctor’s appointments which made it impossible to find a job or professor that would allow me to take time off. During the switch between the military MRPII orders and the VA compensation, we almost lost our home, this was very stressful on the whole family. We've been learning to live with PTSD and a brain injury but it has been a struggle from day one. We have endured many hours of our own therapy with counselors to learn how to deal with everything. One of the suggestions my counselor had for me was to get out of the house and volunteer my time somewhere. This allowed me to have "me" time and do something that I love. I searched around and found that I could volunteer my time with the local Public Defenders Office. Ironically, this has since turned into a clerkship under the Vermont Law Reading Program which (while I haven’t gotten paid for the last 4 and a half years) allows me to sit for the bar exam after four years instead of going to law school. I will be sitting for the exam in February. The state of Vermont has recently asked us to adopt a teenage girl in need of a home, which we did. We now have four girls who have endured through all the craziness of life with a parent with a brain injury. Obviously, Disney World tickets for all six of us would be a lot to ask, so we would appreciate any help at all. Randall and Jessica Martel

There are no words to express our gratitude to the gracious donors that made it possible for our family to visit Disney World. For my husband, not only was this a wonderful vacation surprise, it also let my husband know that his duty to his country is appreciated and remembered. Although, my husbands view remains “one need not receive thanks for defending one’s country” and “so many people gave so much more”, this sure felt like a BIG HUG and THANKS a BUNCH to me!!!! I know my husband and I will never forget the kindness of this gift and vow to pay it forward to other veteran’s in need. Sincerely grateful, The Martels PS: we will send pictures as soon as we get them!!! BIG HUG to ED and ALAN!!!!

Packers Game - Tickets For my Father, Vietnam Veteran

Dec 2nd 2012

My dad is a Vietnam Veteran and my wish is to take him to go to a Green Bay Packer game at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin. If there is any way to get tickets to see any game, especially if they are playing the Chicago Bears or the Minnesota Vikings. (Nov. 14th, 2011 07:30 PM) would be the best. I would love to go with him, my brother is a huge Packer fan as well and my mom would just want to go because we are going! I am currently on active duty, living and working in Arlington, VA. So I will have to take leave to go home, but this would be so memorable for my entire family.

My name is SSG Jason Lieber. I have an amazing wife named Kariann who supports the whole family with soccer practice, football practice, and weekly family nights. Our oldest son Taylor is 11 and plays Pee Wee Football for the Cardinals in Sierra Vista. Our middle daughter is 7 and plays soccer for the Ft. Huachuca Fireballs. Our youngest daughter is 6 and is on a waiting list for soccer and dance. All our kids are extremely active. I have been away from my family on and off for the past 3 years. I wish to take my family to an Arizona Cardinals Football game with seats as close as we can get. I have a wife named Kariann and 3 Childeren: Son Taylor 11, Daughter Jerzee 7, and Daughter Lanna 6. There are a total of 5 of us so it would be amazing if we could get seats for all of us. If not at least for me and my son to go.

Dream Come True In One Place Ravens vs. Chargers

Nov 25th 2012

Hello my name is Specialist Yolanda Eddings and I am currently serving my second deployment in Afghanistan from 2011 with a return date to come home sometime in October 2012. My first deployment was in Iraq from 2009-2010. This has been a long, rough deployment for my husband and three sons ages 13, 12 and 4. When we found out I was going to deploy eight months after getting to our second duty station, we had to make the decision of either staying at our home base or my family moving in with my parents in Colorado to help them around the house. My mom and dad were gracious to open their home to an additional four people. They are getting older and could use the help. I was able to surprise my family excluding my husband on R & R because he had to pick me up from the airport, but one thing I wish I could surprise my boys is, of course with me coming home, but also tickets to see their two favorite football teams; the Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers as well as my dream to attend my first professional football game and meet a player. We all five would hopefully like to go before we PCS in February 2013 out of the states. They play on November 25, 2012 in San Diego, CA. Thank you for your heartfelt consideration and God Bless.

You guys do an amazing job! Keep up the good work. Yolanda

Carrie Underwood Concert - Tulsa

Nov 21st 2012

My name is LT. Scott Vanarsdel, I have just finished a year-long deployment to Afghanistan and have now returned home to Owasso, OK. I have three daughters that are all fans of Carrie, especially since she’s from OKLA herself. My wish is to take my daughters to the Carrie Underwood concert in Tulsa, OK. It would be an incredible thing if I were able to take my daughters to the concert at the BOK Center in Tulsa next month. It’s probably impossible but an autograph or picture would be over-the-top. This would be a great PR event for Ms. Underwood but I don’t know how you would present this to her management. Thank you for the opportunity to request tickets for this event. Redskins-Eagles Game

Nov 18th 2012

I'm Jeff Grosky and I am one of the many severely injured Marines from 3rd Battalion 5th Marines that went to the deployment from hell Sept 10-April 11. On Oct 31, 2010, while on a foot patrol to take a known Taliban house...I hit an IED. One of the results is I lost my right leg below the knee. During my 19 months of rehab and recovery in San Diego, I had a wish that when I got home my dad and I could go to a Washington Redskins home game...the one against Philadelphia on Nov 18, 2012. I got home several months ago and found how hard the tickets were to get and thought maybe we would not be able to go. I grew up in Virginia Beach, as my dad is also a career retired Marine and was stationed there several times for 18 yrs. We kept the family there even though he went to Ca for one 5 yr assignment. We are long time Redskins fans, but never made it up to a home game and now we live in South Dakota. If we could get some tickets, then we would get there!!

Pittsburgh v. Kansas City - Steelers Dreamin'

Nov 12th 2012

My name is Michael Daugherty. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. As you may know, tickets to a Steelers game are not exactly cheap, and not exactly in the price range for a senior airman in the USAF. I am constantly looking for tickets to a game at Heinz Field, however they are usually sold-out or way too expensive. My girlfriend is a Cleveland, OH native and doesn't really understand how or why we are so passionate about our Pittsburgh Steelers. It would mean so much to me if I could take her to a game in the city and let her experience what I once experienced as a child. This would be a dream-come-true for me to be able to attend a home game for my home town team. I will be returning home to the US in approximately 2 to 3 weeks, just in time for the NFL season!! If I had to choose a game, it would be the PHI vs. PIT, but honestly it wouldn't matter which game to me. The reason I chose the Philadelphia game is so that I could be a part of the I-80 rivalry game and see Mike Vick play in person against my hometown squad. Please help make my dream come true! NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Tums Fast Relief 500

Oct 28th 2012

My name is 1SG Brian R. White. My wish is for tickets to the 28 OCT 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Martinsville, VA. I'd love to take my twin sons to their first race. They have passed the test of watching a full race on TV now they are ready for the next step. This would be our first Father-Son event (with the help of my brother) that we have had the opportunity to go on. I am returning from a 3rd tour to Afghanistan at the end of September and have missed most of this years races. I have been deployed for the last year, once again, and have completely missed their kindergarten year of school as well as the start of the 1st grade year. This is the 3rd year long deployment since their birth and I have missed half of their lives due to serving my country in harm's way. I feel fortunate to have been on multiple deployments without being injured in any way. There are thousands of Americans that weren't so fortunate that I take the time to Pray for their families' well-being. I have missed several family birthdays, funerals and anniversaries. The latest event being the death of my father-in-law. Not to mention those cute school events that you only get to see once in a lifetime. Although sad, thousands of my fellow service members have fallen in the same category. I hope that your organization will fulfill this wish and allow my sons and I to make memories with you at Martinsville.

I appreciate this program so much that half of my annual contribution to the Combined Federal Campaign will go to this organization. When I hear "thank you for what you do," I can't honestly think of the proper words as a response. The feeling that these words generate can somehow be shared by Vettix as they continue to grant wishes for deserving veterans that serve to keep America safe at home. I would need (6) 3 day park hopper passes for me, my wife, my sister-in-law, and my 3 kids. We have 3 special needs kids, Brenden who is 16 with Early Onset Psoriasis, Asperger's Syndrome, Bipolar, and ADHD, Alayna who is 13 with Bipolar with psychotic features, possible schizoaffective, and ADHD and Andrew who is 12 with Chiari I Malformation, ADHD, Bipolar, and ODD. We want to bring my sister-in-law to help with the kids so if one is having an issue (ie psychotic break, migraine from the sun, meltdown etc) the others can still enjoy themselves. The date is an approximate date, as I am not sure of exactly when my leave will be, but it should be around that time.

Thank you Vet Tix and the Phoenix Mercury for showing me and my family a great time by granting my Hero's Wish. I requested five tickets to the game and we were not only given floor seat tickets and suite parking. We were also provided with all our meals and drinks. During one of the time outs they put my entire family on the megatron to show their support and at the end of the game we were able to get autographs from the entire team. Thanks for an awesome family experence!

Cubs Tickets

Sep 2nd 2012

Hi, I'm a proud husband and father to 5 great kids (4 girls and a boy..I know I know) who take turns driving my wife crazy and helping to keep her sane while I'm deployed. I grew up near Wrigley Field, and I have great memories of walking to the park, listening to the band play outside, smelling the hot dogs and beer, and listening to the crowd. I was outside the stadium for the first night game (8/8/1988), at least until it rained and changed the official night game until the following night. Due to our military committments over the past 18 years, I've been unable to take the kids to a game. My son was born on 8/8/2008, and I was sure that was an omen that the Cubs were going to win the World Series! That didn't happen, but I'd love to take my son (and the rest of the family of course) to their first Cubs game when I return from deployment, and that will be the year when the Cubbies finally win the World Series!

My family and I just wanted to say thank you to both the Veteran Tickets Foundation, Chicago Cubs organization, and all private donors for an AWESOME experience at Wrigley Field! I couldn't believe the incredible seats provided to us, right behind home plate! My kids experienced their first Chicago-style hot dog, enjoyed the Wrigley Field experience, and have solidified their place as future Cubbie fans! I can't thank you enough for making this wish come true. Thank you and God Bless! Steve Warren

A New Yorker's Dream - Yankees game

Aug 27th 2012

My wife and I have not been home to New York since I came back in the military in 2007. I'm currently on my 3rd deployment since then and I know it's been hard on her. After this deployment I wanted to give her a great vacation back home to see our families. Neither one of our parents have ever met my 2yr old son. Unfortunately the flight from El Paso, TX to NY is around $2000. This leaves little money to really go to many events or attractions while we're home. My wife and I are huge NY Yankees fans. They have a program called the Yankees Inside Experience. They only do this a few times during the season and one happens to be going on during the time frame I'm home during one of the most exciting games of the year, when the Yankees play the Redsox. With this experience, you get to take pictures with the championship trophy and meet players, plus the game. The tickets for this are $700 per person. This would also be my son's first baseball game and wanted it to be very special. If I would be able to give this experience to my family it would mean the world . My family has been through many tough times with all these deployments and would love to be able to give this to them. Thank You and God Bless

Disneyland

Aug 20th 2012

I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and will return back home in July. I would love more than anything to take my 5 yr. old daughter to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. She has had a rough start to her life being that she was born with no kidney function and was on dialysis from birth to 1-1/2 yrs. old. She has been through numerous surgeries with her biggest one being her kidney transplant on Nov 4, 2008. I donated one of my kidneys to my little girl and she has been healthy and active ever since. It would be a wish come true to be able to take her to Disneyland with my wife and I.

One Last Concert - Celine Dion in Las Vegas

Jul 28th 2012

Hello, My name is SGT Matthew Hite. My wife and I are a dual military family with a 6 year old son. We have been together for (4) years and married now for almost one year. I am headed out on my 3rd deployment in May and my wife is a huge Celine Dion fan. You could say she is my wife's idol. Due to financial hardships it hasn’t been possible for me to surprise her with tickets to see Celine in concert. My wife and I do not get a lot of time together and with this 3rd deployment approaching fast, it is a very stressful time...an emotional roller coaster. If I could have one wish granted it would be to take my wife to see Celine Dion Concert in concert at Caesar’s Las Vegas. Thank you for considering my Hero’s Wish!

Thank You Message From Hero:
I first would like to apologize for the lateness of this letter of appreciation, I have recently been moved by the Military and it was been rather stressful moving and starting a new job. Below I wrote about my experience with my wife at the stay at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Our Celion Dion Concert, and our time in Las Vegas. We arrived at Caesars Palace in the afternoon. We were taken by the heat a little bit but totally taken in by the sights and sounds. While we were waiting to check in, there were two hosts who greeted us. We were checking in a little early so they offered to take our bags and bring them to our room when it was ready. We decided to go and eat on the property of Caesars and had by far the best food; of course we had some cocktails. The Bartender at Caesars was very friendly and just happened to be from Minnesota like us! He gave us some good tips on staying in Vegas. Shortly after our meal and drinks the Hotel called us and said our room was ready. We went to get our keys and went to our room. We walked in to our room and were BLOWN AWAY. Everything from the view to how much room there was. The bed by far was our favorite as it was like laying in the clouds. The next day was my favorite. This was the day for the Celion Dion concert. We started off our day taking in all the sights and sounds down the strip. Did a little shopping and walked through almost every casino. Later that afternoon we decided to check out the pool at Caesars Palace, again we were blown away from how elaborate it was. The attention to detail in the structure was flawless. We laid out by the pool for a couple hours and of course had some drinks and something to eat. Please note; this was by far the best pool to be at. The atmosphere, people, and casino hosts are what made it. We finished our time at the pool and went up to our room to get ready for the main attraction in Las Vegas...,Celion Dion Concert. We headed down to the will call desk for our tickets and once we had them in our hand, it was all to true. My wife was shaking because she was so nervous. We met with our host and others who were going to meet Celion Dion. Anticipation has led up to this point. Finally the moment came and we were escorted down to the meet and greet area, While waiting, a gentleman approached us introducing him to my wife and I. I did not think twice until a minute later a woman approached my wife and I, who stated the fine gentleman who just introduced himself to my wife and I was the president of Caesars. I was dumb struck and to this day wish I could take back time to simply say "Thank You" from my wife and I for them providing the opportunity of a life time. After I cleared my head, it was our turn to finally meet Celion Dion! I kept quite as this was a moment for my wife. This was my "Hero's Wish" coming true! My wife didn't •have much to say either as she was star struck I think. I did thank Celion Dion and told her how we got to meet her. After my wife turned ghost white, we were ushered up to our seats for the show. The show I cannot put into words as it was by far incredible. Not only because Celion Dion was putting on an amazing show, but the look on my wife's face was priceless. After the show we ended up at the Celion Dion gift shop where I made sure to treat my wife to whatever she wanted. She picked a DVD/CD combo which she can watch or listen to anytime. We ended the night on a nice walk down the strip. I wish I could find better words to describe my trip, but the experience we had cannot be put into enough words. Pictures don't even do justice, I would personally like to thank Veteran Tickets Foundation for taking this BIG Hero's wish on. Youfollowed through and kept in contact with me over a year. This shows how much dedication and true support you have not only for Soldiers but for the care of our families also. Your organization continues to grow and strive to support all of us service members, even our spouses and family. This just shows how passionate your company is so THANK YOU! I would also like to personally thank Caesars Palace President and everyone involved. You made my wife and I experience the best I could ever ask for. We truly were put in a dream hotel. We even donated $200 to your slot machines! It's the least we could do I guess! But seriously, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. I know with such a big organization and business, taking YOUR time and money to show your support for an Army Service Member and his wife are beyond words. Just please note, you made my "Hero's wish" come true and for that words cannot express the deep gratitude. We hope to make it back to Vegas one day and will defiantly be staying at your hotel. Thank you again to all organizations. If I could personally come shake your hand, I would. My point of contact below is below if you have any questions or need to get in contact with me. "THANK YOU AGAIN FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS"
