A couple of days at Disneyland for the family

Feb 4th 2011

Well where to start? I guess I will just put it out there.. I would love to take my family of 6 to Disneyland for a day or 2 to see everything but we just can not afford to do it on our own. My wife and I are from California and grew up being able to go to Disneyland often but we are just not able to do this for our kids. I was wounded in 2005 while serving in the Army and have had a hard time walking and standing for a long period of time. So this has been the other part of the problem as there is a lot of walking so it would be nice if we can get 2 day passes so that we can experience the whole park and if I need to rest my leg I can. I know this is a long shot but I figured I will try and see what happens. Thank you for your time and please help us to take our kids to the "Happiest place on earth."

Orlando Magic VS Miami Heat

Feb 3rd 2011

It has always been a dream of mine to get my wife and I and my brother and his wife together for a basketball game. My brother and I dont have the greatest of a relationship, but over the last year while I have been deployed we have started to bond more than we ever have. My brother is a huge Heat fan and my wife and I are big Magic Fans. I think it would be awsome if we had the chance to get together and watch a game as both of our teams battle. I really would enjoy this and I'm sure my brother would appreciate it as well

Packers-Bears NFC Championship

Jan 23rd 2011

My name is SGT Nathan Siebach and I'm writing this wish on behalf of myself and five other soldiers in my unit. We are currently at our mob station at Ft. McCoy, WI in preparation for a 12 month deployment to Afghanistan and have watched the end of the NFL season with great angst and excitement as three of us are avid Packers fans and the other three die hard bears fans. The fact that this game is a possibility this year has brought on massive amounts of trash talking from each side. By some miracle we have one break in our training schedule which happens to be from the 23rd thru the 26th of Jan. The 23rd being a possible date for the NFC Championship game. We realize that a few stars need to align before this would even be a possibility, such as both teams winning their divisional playoff games this weekend (which both sets of fans are confident will happen) and then the NFC championship game actually being scheduled on the 23rd. We can provide our own transportation and lodging to/from the game and are asking for any seats to the game. To be able to go to Soldier Stadium and witness such a game right before leaving for our deployment would be one of the greatest gifts ever. Many thanks to any and all who could make such a miracle dream wish come true and give three soldiers total bragging rights for the upcoming year in Afghanistan over their fellow soldiers. Thank you, *cough*gobears*cough

Dear Vet Tickets and Contributors - Just wanted to say thanks soooo much for making it possible for us to go to the game. We had a blast, even if the Bears lost *sigh*. Because it was an early afternoon game we drove down early from Ft. McCoy, WI and stopped by Wrigley field before heading to the stadium. The seats were amazing, and even saw Terry Bradshaw right in front of us after the game. On the way back we stopped at Giordanos for saw awesome Chicago deep dish pizza. Even though the upcoming year in Afghanistan will be full of relentless packer fan gloating, we would not have traded this experience for anything. Thanks again to vet tix and this wonderful program. Wicked at Gershwin Theatre in NYC

Jan 12th 2011

My wife, Lara, has wanted desperately to see the musical Wicked ever since it came out. I have wanted to take her to see it, but the last time I planned to, I was deployed to Kuwait. Then we had twins and the likelihood of us going after that severely diminished. Lara has been a good sport about it, and a wonderful mother to my daughters. I am now in Afghanistan, but I would like to surprise my wife and take her to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre when I get back from my deployment. I know that it is a lot to ask, but I wanted to give her the best seats available, since it will probably be the only time we are ever able to make it. I was planning on taking her roughly 12 January 2011.

I wanted to thank Chris from TN and Eddy from Vettix for allowing me to take my wife to this amazing show. Not only was Eddy able to hook us up with awesome seats, he also set us up for a backstage tour after the show were they told us how they do their magic. My wife even got to hold many of the props for the show, and we even ran into Mandy Gonzalez (Elphaba in the show). It was a night to remember, and I am so very grateful for the opportunity that Vettix gave me to share this with my wife. I appreciate what you have done for this soldier, as well as all you do for all of us that serve. Thank you again!

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Raiders 1/02

Jan 2nd 2011

My name is SGT Roland Gutierrez, and I am currently deployed in Iraq. But I will be home soon, very soon. I hope that someone can fulfill my wish to go the the final game of the NFL season; the Chiefs vs. Raiders on January 2nd. I would love to take my family to go see the Chiefs play before the football season ends. After I come back from Iraq, I will have to report the Germany and my new duty station for 3 years. So this will be my last chance to go to an NFL game for a while. Thank you for considering/donating tickets to me and my family.

That weekend was the only time we all could be together, and what better way to the day together than to watch the Chiefs play! I want to also thank Vet Tix for making this all happen. Coming Home For R & R please read! Fiesta Bowl

Jan 1st 2011

I am a big OU Sooners fan. I am coming home for R&R 1 January, 2011. This bowl game is a dream of mine and my wife's. I want to do something for her since she has been my rock through this deployment to Afghanistan. We never had a honeymoon and not sure if we ever will because money is tight when you are a E4; She never complains though. She always puts me first. We do not have a PX at the FOB I am on, so she always keeps the boxes coming. Even when we are broke, she always finds enough to send me necessities. I can say that we have become closer though we are 7,000 miles apart. I know the Fiest Bowl is a big dream. I would be in heaven if this came true. God bless you all for what you are doing. You make everything I do worth it. Knowing that we have people who care and support us no matter where we are, well that makes me feel good to be a soldier! Thank you and God bless America! Minnesota Wild Hockey

Dec 29th 2010

I am currently on active duty with the Mighty Marne Division (3rd Infantry Mech). This is my second tour to Iraq. Since enlisting my wife and I haven"t been able to attend a single Minnesota Wild hockey game. Its been since 2006. We used to attend them kind of frequently with some close friends of ours, but unfortunately, due to the operation tempo of my current duty station in Georgia, we have not been able to get together. Soon I will be home from Iraq and able to take some long awaited leave. Fortunately, my leave runs right through Christmas, and the Minnesota Wild play the San Jose Sharks on 29DEC2010. Since I promised my wife we would go home for Christmas(since I'll actually be here) I thought it would be a great idea to try and get those friends together again to go see one more Wild hockey game. Well, thanks for hearing me out.. Eitherway this goes, I really think this is a FANTASTIC thing this agency does.. Simply AMAZING!

Miami Dolphins vs Detroit 12/26

Dec 26th 2010

My husband Rene was born and raised in Miami (Coral Gables). Six years ago, he joined the U.S. Army, and was stationed up at Ft. Drum, N.Y., where we currently live. My husband is an Infantryman, and has deployed three times in the past six years to spent a total of 39 months at war. Because of these grueling combat rotations, he has not been able to go to a Dolphins game in five years. When he was younger, he would go to games as often as he could. He is the ultimate Dolphins fan, always telling me to check the game and let him know how they are doing when he calls, and every Christmas all he asks me for is Dolphins memorbelia. Please, help me surprise my husband with 3 tickets (my husband, myself, and our 4yr old and newborn) to see the Miami Dolphins vs. Lions on Dec. 26th. He doesn't know I am doing this, I don't want to get his hopes up.

Cleveland Browns Home Game vs Ravens 12/26

Dec 26th 2010

I am SSG Deborah Lawrence and I'm currently on my 2nd deployment. The 1st deployment was to Iraq in 03-04 and this time it is Afghanistan with the 1092nd Engineer Battalion. My husband & I are avid Browns fans but have never attended a NFL game in person. I will be home on leave from my deployment in December and I know there is a Browns home game in Cleveland against the Ravens on the 26th. We live in West Virginia and it wouldn't be much of a drive to get to the game. My Hero's Wish is for my husband & I to get (2) tickets to the Browns game and maybe a one night stay at a nice hotel in Cleveland. It would be a great mini-vacation and some much needed time spent together for the two of us. Thank you for the opportunity to submit my Hero's Wish! Sincerely, SSG Deborah Lawrence

Cardinals Football

Dec 12th 2010

Hi. We are a family of 4 stationed in southern Arizona. My husband is currently in his 3rd deployment and able to come home on R&R during the first few weeks of December. Our 6 year old son, Joshua, started playing his first year of football right after his dad had to go. He was disappointed when he learned dad wouldn’t be there for the whole season but also understands there will be more years to come since he now wants to play football when he grows up! We do our best to record the games and send them off so they both feel dad is more a part of it. Joshua has talked about wanting to attend a “real” football game ever since he started playing. His team is the Cardinals Red Flag and I am wondering if it’s possible to get tickets to the Cardinals game in Phoenix on December 12th to surprise both father and son with. We have never attended a professional sporting event before mainly because we have never been able to afford to do so. I thought it would be extremely memorable to experience a first as a family at a time when memories are so valuable to us. We would appreciate 4 tickets to the game so we can go as a family, but would feel just as blessed with only 2 so father and son can at least attend. Thank you for considering us and for any help in making this wish come true. The Yates Family

Just wanted to write in a big heartfelt thank you to everyone that was involved in making this wish come true!! It was above and beyond what we were expecting! Thank you to the one who donated the tickets, to the Cardinals for the field passes, to Vet Tix for offering such a wonderful way to help make things like this come true, and to Eddie and anyone else who worked everything out for us. This wish was something we were not expecting to be fulfilled with the short time notice. But to our surprise, it was :) The seats were excellent, it was a perfect view of the field. The field passes for father and son were such a wonderful surprise...our son's eyes lit up walking onto the field!! The kids never let those bears go you gave them either Eddie...that was a surprise they loved. We had an absolute great time!! Thank you for all the time and effort that was put into making this happen for us. This is something we will never forget!!! The Yates Family

I have been a life long Notre Dame fan and have never seen them play in person...it's my wish to take my father to see the ND Irish play against Army in Yankee Stadium on Saturday 20 November. I have already purchased the air tickets to go, however I cannot find any tickets for the game. I have looked at the ticket outlets online and the prices are out of my range. I plan on going to the game with my Dad, also a lifelong Irish fan. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank You

Oct 2nd 2010

I am currently on the tail end of my third deployment overseas, second time in Iraq with an Afghanistan inbetween them. My Company will be redeploying at the beginning of Sept and my request is for 2 tickets to the Red River Shootout which is the annual OU vs UT game at the Cotton Bowl. This year it will be held on Oct 2 and will right at the start of my post deployment block leave. I would like to take my dad to the game, he is a Veitnam vet. I have never been able to attend this game in the past and Sooner football is a huge passion in my life. It would be a great event to be able to go to with my dad. If possible tickets on the an OU section would be greatly appreciated. A little bit about my unit that kind of makes this deployment unique. I am currently with C Co 1-3 IN (The Old Guard). We are better known by our Soldiers who keep constant watch over the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington and for conducting military funerals in Arlington National Cemetery. This is the first combat deployment that an element from our unit has been on since the Veitnam War. Two Companies have been sent to Africa in the past few years but none to an active combat zone that is until us. Once we deploy back to Ft Myer we will reset and continue with our ceremonial duties in Arlington National Cemetery and around the National Capitol Region. It is a huge honor and humbling experience to be part of this unit. Thanks for all you do for us. John

Chicago Cubs tickets

Aug 30th 2010

I am hoping to be able to attend a Cubs game with my family. It is pretty expensive to take a family to a MLB game. I have been to several and usually can only afford two tickets. I would like to be able to take my entire family to a game. We all love the Cubs and it would be awesome if we all could go at the same time. I am returning to the United States at the end of July and would like to attend a Cubs game before the kids return to school. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

My family and I were treated very well while at Wrigley Field. We were treated to onfield passes during Cubs batting practice and great seats a couple sections back from home plate. Got a couple autographs and some great pictures of the players. Thanks to Dwayne and Eddie at Veteran Tickets Foundation for all their help in making this day become a reality. Thanks to the Chicago Cubs and Jamie King with the Wrigley Field Ambassadors. She made sure we were taken care of and even came back during the game to see if we were doing ok. Thanks to all who donate money, time and tickets to make these wishes come true for Veterans and their families. We certainly had a great time and it will be a day we wont forget. Getting to go onto the field during batting practice is something not many get to do. The Cubs went "all-out" with taking care of us. Thanks again. Go Cubs!!

Disney World / Wisconsin Dells

Aug 28th 2010

Hi my name is Jason I am currently on my second deployment and deployed to Afghanistan with the Airborne CAV stationed out of Germany. When I deployed I was told that I would not be getting mid tour leave but I recently found out I will be getting leave in early/ mid August. I am extremely excited about leave because my wife flew back state side to Illinois in April and just gave birth to my first daughter two weeks ago. She is currently staying with family along with our 10yr old son. I would love to take my recently enlarger family to Disney or Wisconsin Dells Kalahari indoor / outdoor water park resort for leave. This would not only be a wonderful surprise for our ten year old son but it would be a wonderful way for our family to re-bond without all the extra family around since we do not have our own place state side. This would also be extremely exciting for my family because we still have 2 years left to serve in Germany and it is very hard for us to come home for visits or vacations. Right now till the end of July I can get hero tickets to Disney World for $99.00 each plus tax, I would need 3 tickets. After July 31st the four day pass for 3 would be $85.00 a day per person $1020.00. Or I can get passes to Kalahari indoor / outdoor water park resort for 2 days for my whole family for $399.90 I know that this is a lot to ask for but it would mean the world to my family and me. I missed so much of of the pregnancy and my daughters birth that being able to have this time and amazing experience with my family would mean everything to us. Thanks for reading my wish. GETTING MARRIED ON LEAVE!!!

Jul 15th 2010

I'm currently serving at an undisclosed location in the Middle East. I got engaged to my girlfriend of 3 years in February of this year. We have set a date for July 17th while I'm home on mid-tour leave. For our first date 3 years ago I took her to see the Atlanta Braves play the Milwaukee Brewers. It so happens that the same two teams are playing on the night that would be our bachelor/bachelorett party night July 15, 2010. We've made plans to go to the game for said celebration, however there are 8 people in our wedding party and getting good seats for that many people is impossible on my budget (did i mention, her parents don't approve, so I'm paying for the whole wedding.) I know its a long shot, but one of the few things that we hold on to over here are the ones we love, and following our favorite sports teams in the news. I know the Braves aren't rocking anybody's world this year, but I would still love to see them play. I know this is a long shot, but its the only shot I've got. Thanks.

Dream to See

Jul 14th 2010

Dear VET TIX, My name is Gordon Ewell. I am a Severely Injured Iraq War Veteran, Medically Retired after over 24 years of service (U.S. Army). It was “My Dream” to spend 30 years in military service, and retire as a Command Sergeant Major. However, in 2006, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), Blew up my vehicle. Injuries that I sustained deprived me of that dream, and many others. I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), a Broken Neck, Lost my Right Eye, and Lost most of the Vision in My Left Eye (while I have some useable vision, I am legally Blind). I lost My Hearing (I have a Cochlear Implant), I have had the left side of my face rebuilt (jaw), and have been on a liquid diet for the better part of four years. I suffer from severe PTSD, a Flaccid Neurogenic Bladder, Cognitive Disorders, Myalgia, Abnormality of Gait, Fracture of the 6th vertebrae in my neck, with restricted right side stenosis, Fractured Jaw, Chronic pain, Dyssomnia, and Chronic facial Pain. My wife has had a dream of wanting to see the Broadway Show, “Wicked,” ever since it’s Premier. I told her in 2005, prior to leaving for Iraq, that I would take her when I got home. I lied. Instead of coming home, and taking her to see “Wicked,” I came home Severly Wounded, and have spent the last four years, in and out of 5 different hospitals, seeing over 43 different Surgeons, Medical Specialists, and Doctors, as well as over a dozen different Dental and Oral Surgeons, and again that many mental health professionals. Instead of me realizing my dream, or her realizing hers, We have done nothing but try to regain all of the physical and mental health we could for me. She put her life on hold, trying to help ensure, that I would have the best life I could, with what I had l left, in the future. Now, my dream has changed. My dream is to try to make her dream (and my original promise to her) come true. I have to be in Palo Alto, California for a Congressional Eye Study, that I am part of, Between 12 and 14 July. I noticed at the Orpheum Theater, on 1192 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 (415) 512-7770, The Off Broadway Play of “Wicked” is being performed. I was very excited. However, the tickets for the Orchestra Section of the Play are $95.00 a piece. It might not seem like a lot, but with SIX kids at home, the price is way “outside” of my grasp. If I could have a wish come true. It would be to be able to take her to see “Wicked,” while we were in the “Bay Area,” 12-14 July, the 14th if at all possible. I have not even told her that the Play is going on, for fear that she would just have her hopes dashed again, if I were unable to take her. Anyway, that is my dream. If there is anything you could do to make it come true, I cannot tell you how grateful I would be. If it just can’t happen, I totally understand, and would still like to tell you thank you for all you are doing and trying to do on behalf of all our Soldiers and Veterans. Thank you Very MUCH!!! Sincerely, Gordon “Gordy” Ewell Severely Wounded “Iraqi War Veteran”

Thank You Message From Hero:
Dear Vet Tix Team, Recently I submitted a wish to you. I was going to be in the Bay Area (San Francisco), in July 2010, for some ongoing medical testing and studies as a result of severe injuries suffered in Iraq in 2006. I noticed the off-broadway production of the play "Wicked," was playing at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco. It was my wife's wish to see the play. It was MY WISH, to make her wish come true, as a way of saying thank-you for taking care of this Wounded Warrior, So Badly Broken, and different than the Warrior you sent off to War. It was very short notice, and the premium tickets were way outside the price range for the parents of six kids. But, it was worth a shot, so I took the chance to make my wish come true and contacted you. I do not know how you pull off the miricles that you do. My reasoning is simple, because you are all angels... or helping them do their work anyway :) You not only made my wish come true, by arranging for us the very best seats in the Theater, but arranged a night at a luxury hotel and dinner at one of the very best reastraunts in the city. To top it off you arranged a Limo to take us to each destination the entire evening. It was truly a remarkable evening! Your Expertise and Contacts in the Entertainment Industry, took my wish and added to it wonderful elements that I never would have thought of, never could have afforded, or ever would have attempted to pull together on my own. Thank-You! It will never be enough for the memories that will last a lifetime, for one of the best things to have happened since my injuries, or for the opportunity to see my wife smile and laugh, after so many hard years filled with 5 different hospitals, 43 different specialists, surgury after surgury, and driving hours every single day for intensive out-patient therapies. Thank-You Vet-Tix for literall making "OUR" wishes come true! Very Special Thank You to Eddie Rausch. Thanks Eddie! You are all AWESOME! Mission Accomplished! Thank-You!!!

Thank You Message From Hero:
I just came home from a year in Iraq and I contacted VTF, they were really helpful in getting me great seats for me and my family. I took my son to his first Red Sox game and we had a great time. The seats were awesome and Dwayne and Eddie were great. I cannot say enough. Great job and thanks a lot.

Tim McGraw Concert for R&R

May 8th 2010

Hi there. I'm PVT Kirk Downing, currently serving overseas (with the Florida National Guard) in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I don't think that answering the call of duty for the greatest country on earth makes me a hero, as I am just one of millions who have done it. But I am definitely learning how hard it is to be away from the people I love and care about. I was blessed to receive a "Rest & Relaxation" leave for next month (May) and am excited to get home to Florida and see my Family and my Girlfriend. I miss them like crazy, and it will be extremely great to get away from the stresses of life over here. There is a Tim McGraw concert at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on May 8th, and I would love to drive up from Miami and take my girlfriend or sister to the show. Tim McGraw is my favorite artist in the world, and that would pretty much "make my whole year!" To those of you reading this and the many others, thank you for all you do to support us. The amount of love in the way of gifts, greeting cards, care packages, etc. is overwhelming and awesome. We can't all thank you enough for helping to make our time away from "home" a little easier. God Bless you all.

Thank You Message From Hero:
It has been a very long while since my first ever suns game, a playoff no less. But, I can remember every moment of it. I brought a few of my hometown friends as my battle buddies were all on vacation after returning home from deployment. I spent a good portion of my deployment watching the Suns in my free time whenever they were on AFN. The opportunity to go to a Suns game during the playoffs with some of my life long friends was an experience I will never forget. Your contribution sincerely helped with my reintegration into civilian life and brought laughter and joy back into my world. It was a great experience I thank you so much for that opportunity! Academy of Country Music Awards

Apr 18th 2010

I am currently deployed in Iraq. I will be on leave from 1 Apr 10 to 21 Apr 10 and will be in FL and Las Vegas, NV. I recently found out the Academy of Country Music Awards will be taking place in Vegas during that time. I am a huge country music fan and tried to buy tickets online, but they were sold out. If there is a way I can get them through this organization. Thanks!!

I can't thank you enough for the opportunity you provided me while in Vegas. The room at the Bellagio was incredible and the buffet was excellent. If there is anything I can do to give back to your agency, please let me know. Thanks again.

Mavericks Tickets

Mar 30th 2010

I would like to attend a Mavericks game. I was deployed in support of OIF and was medevac'd in August of 2009 I am currently in the Warrior Transition Unit and live in Fort Worth. I had surgery after 6 months of therapy to my right knee and am pending surgery on my left knee. I am a single mother and I feel that my children have already given up so much. I feel that because Basketball is important to them that it would be wonderful to show them that I am greatful for all the support they give me during this time. I also suffer from PTSD and that sometimes could be difficult for them to comprehend. They are patient and loving, for that I am thankful.

Thank You Message From Hero:
Thank you to the Dallas Mavericks for giving me and my family the gift of the NBA. My children being basketball players themselves really had an appreciation for this and I as a mother was able to experience such an amazing time with them. You will never know how deeply this has touched our family and our hearts!
