My wife and I were able to take her sister and a friend of ours for a great birthday outing. Top notch music in the acoustically perfect Severance Hall are always appreciated, but one piece stood out in its uniqueness and power- Ravel's Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D major. I was moved to learn more and in researching the history of this I turned up a surprising military connection. The piece was commissioned by the Austrian pianist Paul Wittgenstein following his World War I military service where he was shot in the elbow and captured by the Russians during the assault on Ukraine, and his right arm had to be amputated. Like many of today's veterans, instead of ending his career, overcoming this setback is another inspiring example of a war injured veteran overcoming their limitations. Thanks Cleveland Orchestra and VetTix for an enjoyable night out AND an inspiring history lesson!

Thank you so incredibly much for donating tickets to Vettix. I never thought that my 19 years in the Navy Seabees would mean very much to anyone besides me and the other military men and women that I served with, but by your kind actions, it meant something to you too. Going to the orchestra concert was extra special to be able to take my family to share for their first experience. The seats were amazing and the show was superb! This veteran thanks you from the bottom of my heart. Chris
