Oh, what a night - thank you Phoenix Symphony. The opening tribute to John McCain was unexpected. For me, as a Navy veteran, it was a particularly poignant and moving moment. The Julia Perry "Short Piece" and Barber's Toccata Festival were interesting. I thought Barber's work was particularly melodic for him. Paul Jacobs organ mastery was in full force here. Finally, the Beethoven Ninth Symphony. What a glorious piece! We have heard the Phoenix Symphony and Chorus perform this work at least four times now, and it has never sounded better. A truly wonderful opening night, thank you Phoenix Symphony.

Thank you for the great tickets. I thought they would be "nose-bleed area" tickets but our seats were great! This is my favorite symphony by Beethoven. My wife and I made it a date night. We went out to dinner before hand. It is nice that someone still values our service to our country. Thank you.
