What is a Hero's Wish?

All, Thank you for granting my wish this year. It has been a hard year with combat deployments and other personnel things in my life. This day is a day that I will never forget. Again thank you. Respectfully MSGT Sagredo Ismael

Hero's Wish Veteran Tickets Foundation is proud to bring the Hero's Wish program to our members!

Deployed, wounded and families of those killed in action are shouldering the hardest burdens of military service. Their duty has impacted their lives in ways the rest of America can only imagine. To relieve their burden of stress Vet Tix would like to give a once in a lifetime event to these Heroes. Hero's Wish events create wonderful experiences that they can always remember to heal their spirit and bring them together as a family. For those who have suffered, we want to welcome them back and bring enjoyment back into their lives.

Hero's Wish allows members who meet certain criteria to request specific tickets for any single event (NOTE: We are not capable of fulfilling meet and greets, trips, cruises, hotel stays or flights), and have donors fulfill that request either by ticket donation or by donating money to make the hero's wish come true.

The Hero's Wish program can be used by Active Duty Military Personnel (six months prior to, while on leave from or six months after their deployments), severely wounded Veterans (Purple Heart Required) and the families of men and woman killed in action (KIA).

After submitting a Hero's Wish, Vet Tix will work with the veteran to verify the Hero's Wish requirements are met. If all criteria are met, a member of the Hero's Wish will be assigned to facilitate wish fulfillment. Veteran Tickets Foundation does not discriminate based on race, religion, sex or social status.

The Vet Tix Hero's Wish team and other volunteers explore possible ways to make the Hero's Wish come true for our veteran. Most Hero's Wishes are funded on a case by case basis with funds donated through the website and by the Hero's Wish team working hard with our donors and venues to make the Hero's Wish a reality.

Help Fulfill a Hero's Wish

Want to help Veteran Tickets Foundation fulfill the wish of one of America's heroes? There are two ways you can help us honor these special members:

  • Make a ticket donation. Simply visit the Hero's Wish page and select a wish that you'd like to help Vet Tix fulfill.
  • Don't have tickets to donate? No problem! You can always support a hero by making a monetary donation toward the wish you select and Vet Tix will purchase the tickets.

New wishes are being submitted all the time, so we encourage you to view the hero's wish page as often as you can.

Thanks to everyone that made our Disneyland Dream a reality! We really appreciate what you do for our military families! Thank you for all your support!

Submit A Hero's Wish

Are you Currently Serving Military (six months prior to combat deployment, six months after a deployment, or while on leave from deployment), a severely wounded Veteran (Purple Heart Required) or a family member of someone who was killed in action (KIA)?

If you are and you have not received a wish from another wish-granting organization, then you are eligible for our Hero's Wish Program! All you need to do is complete a few easy steps and Veteran Tickets Foundation will get started on making your Hero's Wish come true!

NOTE: Veteran is allowed to submit 1 (ONE) lifetime wish. If wish goes unfilled, that still counts as your one lifetime wish.

Jack Johnson concert
My name is PFC Jeffery Taylor. I joined the US Army to become a 13 bravo, which is mechanized infantry, I wanted to shoot the big guns and attended Ft Sill Oklahoma for training and then was stationed at Ft. Stewart GA. With the 3rd infantry division. I was deployed to Kuwait in January 2003 and was in the initial invasion of Iraq in March. I was wounded on 4 April 2003 and my wife Tracy Taylor’s life changed when she received a phone call all Army Wives dread—that her husband, PFC Jeffery Taylor had been critically injured in Iraq. Details were vague at the time, but the Army advised Tracy that I had survived an attack just outside the Bagdad Airport during the invasion of Iraq. During an attack, my Tracked vehicle was up-ended by enemy mortar causing a weight difference. The shift in weight caused the vehicle to roll over an embankment into a water-filled canal. The vehicle sank to the bottom and I along with my crew members was trapped. Despite my leg being crushed and pinned down, I was able to keep my mouth and nose above the water as it filled the vehicle. I was rescued, but my crew members perished. Today, I suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), left leg nerve damage, and hearing loss. I was the sole survivor and received a purple heart on that particular mission. I was discharged from the Army in the beginning of 2004 and have been receiving treatment ever since that night. I have always dreamed of seeing Jack Johnson in concert but could never afford to go. He mostly plays in Hawaii which I could never afford to travel there which has also always been a dream of mine to visit. I learned that he is coming to St. Augustine and it would be a dream come true for me to see him. I would love to meet him but just to be able to see him would be great. My wish is for 4 tickets to see Jack Johnson in concert in St Augustine FL on Oct 2nd or 3rd.

Hamilton for my family
My name is Donny Daughenbaugh, I am a medically retired OIF-II Marine. I was an 0311 and enjoyed being a rifleman and during my short time in Iraq I believe I helped make a difference. One night, 7 weeks into my deployment I was searching a car when the driver shot me in the face. The bullet broke my jaw, and stayed too close to my spinal cord and my brain to be removed. I'm now 12 years post injury and have developed a headache disorder, a small seizure issue and chronic nerve damage from the course of the bullet. I was given a purple heart in Bethesda and used my injury and my ongoing recovery to help me as an advocate for other wounded veterans. My family is very involved in helping to advocate for the needs of wounded veterans and their families. I have a wife, 13 year old daughter, 8 yr old son and a baby on the way! My wife and daughter are big fans of the Hamilton Broadway show. I'd like to add the difficulty in getting these tickets with the possibility of VetTix making it happen to equal an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity for my family.

Disney World
My name is Capt M. Josh Ogburn. I am currently deployed as a Navigator on the RC-135RJ, and have been deployed or TDY for 3/4 or this past year. My wife is the real hero, she has been raising our kids as a single parent with no close family support. Beyond that, my son was diagnosed with Spina Bifida early in the pregnancy, and my wife chose to undergo fetal repair surgery to give him the most favorable outcome. This involved delivering him via C-section at almost 24 weeks gestation, receiving surgery on his back, and then placing him back in the womb to continue to develop. After 3 months of bed rest to avoid preterm labor, Zeke was born the second time at 35 weeks. I am so thankful for the sacrifice my wife made for our son's future, as well as the incredible work she does on a daily basis to provide for a special needs child and a very spirited 4 year old daughter! My wish is to take them to Disney World for a family vacation after my deployment and follow-up training this year. I would love to have four 4-day park hopper passes to be able to take some time to invest in our family.

Chicago Cubs game in Tampa Bay
My name is SrA Cody Whitford. I'm an Air Traffic Controller in the USAF. Currently, I am deployed to Northern Iraq supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. I have been deployed here since Feb and will return early Sept. Being granted these tickets would really let me kick back and relax after a long/stressful duration away from my family. My wife has been a great mother to our eight-month-old son when I was gone and this would really unite us back as a family. What a better way than to hang out in Tampa Bay and see some good Chicago sports! Thank you for your support and Go Cubs!
