Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Saturday Matinee Show

Thank you Phoenix Symphony for the enjoyable matinee performance with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Symphony. I took my wife and adult children, and we all enjoyed it immensely. The choice of numbers was spot on representative of Dixie, Swing and jazz. The showmanship combined with the musicality of the group made for visual as well as an auditory pleasure. The Phoenix Symphony did an excellent job in backing the band adding power without covering the front men. We especially enjoyed the tightness of the rhythm section: piano, bass and drums. The fine trumpet players were both reminiscent of Maynard Ferguson on the upper register. The clarinet and sax player handled Benny Goodman to Coltrane-like rifts with equal dexterity. It was an enjoyable afternoon for the whole family. Many thanks!

I would like to thank Vet Tix, The Phoenix Symphony and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for the amazing tickets to the concert on Saturday. The seats were outstanding and the music was even better. Combining the amazing sounds of the Phoenix Symphony with the legendary sounds of my teenage years from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was a truly awesome experience that I will remember for a very long time. My foot is still tapping as I write this. Thanks again to everyone that helped us get these tickets!

This was my third time seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy live in concert. The previous two times were at AirVenture where they performed on an outdoor stage. The show at Phoenix Symphony Hall where they were accompanied by The Phoenix Symphony Orchestra was a new and exciting experience. The show was spectacular and exceed my expectations. Many thanks to The Phoenix Symphony for the donated tickets and your generosity to those, like me, who served.
